Growing up we shared a secret handshake, special names for one another, and even our own language.
Ours was a special relationship that wasn’t definable.
My Hero, My Ding tells the poignant story of my grandfather and I and the overwhelming bond we shared.
My hope is that everyone has at least one person that he or she can look up to, respect, and love!

“Why did you write this book?” is a common question that I am asked since my book’s release. So, here’s a little extra about me. My grandfather died suddenly when I was in my early twenties, and I took his death rather hard. He was truly an anchor in the family. I found it therapeutic to write down stories that I remembered about him and our time together. I wrote on loose-leaf paper, typed some on the computer and generally had a pile of memoirs that I eventually stored in my closet. Occasionally, I’d take them out and re-read them, and they never failed to bring a smile to my face. Finally, I decided to put all these memories, stories, and antics together in a book and was thrilled when I found out it was going to be published. I hope that the memories I have and the lessons I learned can be an inspiration to others.
